Trusting birth control

I've been on the pill for a few months and waited until the end of one full pill pack to rely on it solely (as per my doctor's instructions). My boyfriend has come in me several times-- last month I was a NERVOUS WRECK in the days leading up to my placebo week, and this month I feel the same. I should get my period today or tomorrow. I haven't taken a pregnancy test yet, but I'm just I guess venting, wondering what you all do. I think I'm going to ask him to start pulling out, just as an added precaution. By the way, I also have PCOS so until I started on the pill I had very irregular periods.
