Is zofran safe?!

My doctor called in zofran for me but I read on line it's not safe! I don't know what to do. Anyone else take it???

I had hyperemesis really bad. It was to the point I had to be given all my nutrition through a PICC line and IV bag. And a long hospitalization. I lost 7lbs in 2 days from vomiting and I had no choice but to be put on zofran (I am allergic to most other anti nausea medications). I was on zofran for about 2 months taking it multiple times a day. I talked to many doctors about the risk. I am 35 weeks now and baby is perfectly healthy and has developed at a normal rate. I was constantly beating myself up about having to take it thinking I'm the worst mom. However my baby wouldn't have survived had I continued to be as sick as I was and not taken it. I myself would've had to been hospitalized due to malnutrition as well. I also met with a specialist who told me the zofran hype has not been substantiated. And told me not to worry. I did reach out to many women who had used it during early pregnancy as well and I have yet to meet a women who had problems with it affecting their babies. For me, and many ladies, zofran was the right choice.

So only do what you feel is right for your health and baby. But I hope I could help calm some of your worries and put things into perspective. Wishing you the best 9 months!

Wouldnt risk it! Request something else. At the pharmacy my mom works at they are going through a ladies records because she took it and baby was born with defects with no family history so they are suing zofran...

My doc wouldnt give it to me ive heard a lot of stories about zofran not sure how true they may be. she said she rather give me phenergan even tho it makes me sleepy. I just take it at night
