Anyone have brainpower to help me understand?

So.. 
The first day of my lmp was August 14th, (28d cycle) 
I tested September 15th, and got my bfp. 
I went for my first ultrasound on October 8th which my apps were saying I was 8 weeks then, right? 
When she measured the gestational sac, she said I was way too early for a heartbeat and nowhere near 8w. More like 5ish weeks??

Okay. So when would I have ovulated?! Or conceived?

I had this experience with my first baby. Was supposed to be 8 weeks at first ultrasound and was only measuring 6. There was a heartbeat. Went back a week later (to a different OB, long story) and baby was just fine. Just not as far along as we had thought. It all depended on the heartbeat. They adjusted the due date by 2 weeks. Baby ended up being born on the original due date that was calculated before they adjusted it by 2 weeks. Wishing you the best. It's possible to ovulate late or implant later than you thought you did! Also when they are measuring with millimeters they can be off sometimes. Good luck!

Yeah going of ur lmp u should of been  7 weeks and 6 day at ur scan what due date did they give u

I have been too :( I got sucked into google and I've been devastated since. I have another ultrasound in 10 days.

I had the same issue this morning during my ultrasound. 1st day of my lmp was August 15 (25 days in a cycle), so I'm supposed to be 8 weeks, ultrasound showed 6 weeks 3 days. My dr was not happy with this. I'm so worried.

Anyone have brainpower to help me understand?
