Breast pumps?

Good evening! I am just looking for some information on breast pumps? What things do I need to consider when looking at them?  What ones are your favourites? Why? What do you like about them?  I've been looking at the medela freestyle due to the portability of the unit itself.... There is also the medela in style pump.....Although there are similar models out there for a fraction of the cost. Is it worth the price? Is this a you get what you pay for situation?

I loved my double pump in style. I would suggest renting a medela symphony from the hospital to help with milk production for twins.

I got a medela double pump in style with my son, loved it, very easy to take apart and clean.

You should check with your insurance, breast pumps are generally covered, so unless you have your heart set on a brand they don't offer, you'll get one for free. And if your insurance is like mine, if the baby needed a nicu stay, you're given a hospital grade pump instead of one of the standard options.

Check with your insurance. A lot of plans will cover part of not all of the cost. My insurance covered the medela in style double pump 100%.

I don't have first hand experience with any breast pumps yet but I got the freestyle bc it seemed to have the best reviews. I also got a free ameda one through insurance but the reviews I read on the free one said that it was loud with poor suction. It seemed like overall people comment on 1. Volume while pumping (serious consideration if you're going back to work- and I am), 2. Overall suction and whether or not the suction decreased over time (related to speed of pumping it seems) and 3. Portability/cleaning. The freestyle seemed to do well with all those things. That's said, I didn't look at the other kinds much.
