Breakfast before labor?

Question

I'm being induced in a couple days at 7:30am and was told I could eat something light for breakfast... I'm sure they won't want me eating once things get started (I've packed granola bars and apple sauce anyway) but what are some good suggestions for a powerful but light breakfast?

I say eat what you want... Who knows how long it could take, and you might feel sick even if you eat light.

Girl eat if your hungry. People tell us to eat the whole time we're pregnant for the baby and then want us to starve before its born? Labor isn't a short ordeal and you and the baby don't get much energy from an iv. Both of you are working hard. 
They hardly put people under for csections anymore either (which is why they say they tell you not to eat). It's crap. They just don't want to possibly have to clean up vomit if you miss the toilet. Feed your hunger.

I would say have exactly what you fancy eating, it will go down easier especially if you're a little anxious/ excited and it's a super early morning. And unless they say otherwise you should definitely stay energised through labour. I'm taking granola bars, chocolate biscuits and still energy drinks. And I'm being induced in a couple of hours, fingers crossed for all us overdue ladies.

Eat something light your going to want like nothing in your stomach. All the pushing and contractions is not gonna feel good with good in there.

So the hospitals keep a mini fridge in the room? I know it sounds silly, but I would love to be able to bring some yogurt or keep cold bottled water handy. Bring some veggies or fruit, ya know?

I can say that I felt horrid when I was induced because I disnt really eat anything that day. Up at 4am with a sick 5yo, barely able to snack because my stomach is so empathetic and induced at 10:30am really Really sucked. If they say something light my best advise is carbs and protein over anything else.

My dr told me I couldn't have anything after midnight the night before my induction

My dr never told me I couldn't eat, but everyone tells me I shouldn't! I'm going in to be induced tomorrow night at 10 but I am going eat at my favorite place before I go in! I refuse to be starving to death not know how long I'm going to labor! Everyone says oh your gonna be sick but guess what we will be in a hospital where you can get some nausea meds for that! I'd rather take the chances of getting sick than to be starving to death honestly! Lol
