Abusive relationships

Did being in an abusive relationship or relationships in the past make you a hard ass? My last one is what did it. He was so horrible to me and now I feel like it just made me mean. Anytime my so now (who is wonderful to me) starts anything with me I can get so mean and I wasn't like it before. Or if he says certain things they cause a trigger that reminds me of my last one and I about lose my shit. Sometimes I cry and sometimes I just get furious. Am I the only one?
