Feeding baby

Ok so I'm a new mommy and I don't have anyone to ask for pointers so I'm asking you mommies well my son is nine months and I'm confused about the feeding right now he gets a eight oz bottle every three hours and twice a day I give him baby food mixed with rice cereal but I feel I should be doing something different especially since we need to start weaning him off bottles around one any help plz I really need advice
