Please stop!

Please stop recommending that someone gets a pet when they are feeling "baby crazy" or to decide if they want to have a baby! Pets are a huge commitment. They cost a lot of money, they will be in your life for 12-15 years if not longer. They are not just cute little puppies or kittens - they grow up and you have to be able to provide for them for life if you take one on. They aren't something that can just be discarded once your baby comes along! Too many times I see ads for people selling their pet saying "we just don't have time for little Juju now we have a baby". It makes me so angry to see these ads, and it makes me angry to see people recommend getting, or going out to get a pet for selfish reasons to fill a void in their lives. Unless you can make a lifeling commitment to that animal, get a hobby not a pet!
