All natural hospital birth
Keaton Scott was born Wednesday October 14th at 2:06pm... I was 41+1 and scheduled to be induced on thursday morning.. At 3:30am I woke up really uncomfortable, went to the bathroom and spent the next 2 hours trying to get comfortable at 5:45 I got up and went to the living room... I decided to time a few and they were 6 mins apart lasting about 45 seconds. I text my sister and told her this may be the real deal, she suggested i wake up my husband and tell him he will be staying home from work. At 7:15 we called the midwife and she said that it was most likely the real thing and to stay home as long as we like. At 9:15 we went to the hospital and I was dilated to a 5 and contracting every 3 mins lasting 1 minute. They admitted us to a room and I got in the tub which was awesome. My sister arrived so we all just hung out in the bathroom until I was ready to get out. I got out around 11 and thought I might be in transition because I started shaking and felt like I had the flu. I got checked again shortly after that and was at an 8 so they asked if I wanted my water broke and we decided to go for it. After we broke my water the contractions got increasingly stronger and harder to get through. At 1 I was checked and dilated to a 10 so my midwife asked if I wanted to start pushing. I gave it a try but said I wasn't really ready yet. I threw up at some point and it was really hard to get through the last of the contractions. Around 1:30 I started pushing. It took a while to find a position I was comfortable in but once I got going it went pretty fast. So fast the midwife and nurse weren't ready yet! My husband was able to catch my son and put him on my chest. He began breathing on his own and feeding after 20 mins. It wasn't easy but I'm very happy with my choice to do an unmedicated birth.
