Rocking chair necessary?

How important is it to buy a rocking chair? I found one on sale for $399 but I don't feel like its a must have. Any experience?

I got a recliner style rocker. It was a god send! Maybe you can find one at a child consignment shop.

I didn't with my first. I just doubled my exercise ball with a bouncy ball to rock on while holding my son.

But if I later decide I want one, it'll probably be a Poang chair from Ikea, for $150 or less...

Like everyone said hers, not a "must" I went through both my last two without, now have a glider and foot rest and wish I could rewind time and use it for my last two also!!! Lol- I found one at a yard sell for 15$ a steal- best $ I've spent. Look on Craigslist, consignment stores and stuff like that- don't pay 300$ but u can for sure find one for cheaper and u won't be sorry u did

I bought one with my first and he hated to be rocked, lol. With my other 4 I didn't even bother. The bouncy chair is a must-have though, if you ask me.

Somewhere comfy to sit while midnight nursing/ settling is a must. I don't have a chair but I do have a bed in my sons nursery. I wish I had a chair! Sure, you can live without it, but it helps for dozing!

I didn't have one for my first and wish i did! I would recommend something comfortable that also reclines incase you fall asleep too, because you probably will lol. I fully intend on having one this time around.
