2nd baby shower ideas

A friend offered to throw me a baby shower. We have a lot of things from our first so don't need much. I like the idea of a diaper/necessities shower, but I am really particular about the lotions and products I put on my babies. I don't know how to request only a certain brand of things without looking snooty. And I want to probably try different diapers to see which brand works best with new baby so I don't want them wasted. Should I just do a different type of theme then? Any unique ideas? My husband wants to be involved too.
