Clomid changed ovulation day?

Has this happened top anyone else? I started taking Clomid(1st time) on the 3rd day of my cycle (Oct 9th). My peak day for baby making was supposed to be Oct 17th. But when I took the ovulation test there was no surge. However, today Oct 21st there was a surge. I have a very regular 25 day cycle so this just throws everything off. Love the idea of baby dancing again. Except we did that last night and we've been doing the every other day method so his swimmers can build up. Ugh...
