Can smoking weed hurt a mans sperm?

My SO smokes weed everyday and has been for years. I'm worried about when we try to have a baby if he'll be able to give me one naturally. I would really rather not have to do invetro or artificial insemination. He doesn't want to stop smoking but says he will when we start ttc if necessary. Our friend had a baby and he smokes all the time. So is this true or not?

Yes it will absolutely affect his sperm, my friend had a very difficult time getting pregnant due to this issue. Not to mention, do you really want him smoking weed the way he is around your child? I'm not sure that's the best model to set for your child. Even if they don't actually see or smell him smoking it, they will see daddy "high". If they aren't around him high..  Then they won't be around him much..  I mean just regardless how you do it, doesn't seem like a healthy environment to grow up in.

I've done quite a bit of research on it about 3 or so years ago and it has been said that it affects the males sperm count. But not totally sure about it but I have no concern about it anymore because my current so doesn't smoke at all whatsoever so I have no concern anymore.

No it's not true. A friend of mine, her husband and her both smoke, like constantly through the day. She got pregnant and never had any problems during the pregnancy. However, I'm no doctor but I don't believe it'll harm his seamen or you in any way.

As far as the research I've done, it only effects the sperm while the weed is in a mans system, and it makes them too "tired" to swim to the egg. I have not read a single scientific article claiming that it can cause infertility long term, so as long as he's not smoking when TTC, you should be good! Although, weed doesn't effect some peoples fertility at all, so this may not even be an issue :)

My brother used to smoke A LOT of weed  and now has 5 kids. So no I don't think so.
