Does this make sense?

My mom has really gotten bad this year so I'm adjusting to wheelchairs and walkers and stuff. She doesn't want me to put my own life on hold to care for her but I don't want her neglected either. She feels very strongly that when she needs more care to put her in assisted living. If she gets worse I want to move to a city with better options for assisted living.. Somewhere that I can visit her every couple days and make sure things are actually being done. And that has interesting things. The homes here are basically cubicals that feel like a hospital full of elderly people with dementia. She wouldn't be happy there. I need nice stuff for her. Like an indoor garden or something at least. Not just gray walls and a curtain exit. 
Does it make sense to move?

Yes, when storamorfar(Great maternal grandfather was 99 he was in a home like that. He hates it because "there wasn't any decent tail for miles." He was kinda of a dick, and confused me for my Opa (his oldest son who passed on to the next world when I was 5). But his 2nd oldest kid, my great aunt, moved so she could get out of the house Great Uncle died in and so he'd have a better "rest home" (apparently we don't call it assisted living, even though that's where he was.)

She moved and it made the last 5 years a lot easier. He was 104 and I believe his girlfriend was some hot young Bette, she was 70 with 2 new hips. They had little apartments, so it was more like an apartment situation than just a waiting room.

My Godpapa is in a place like that too. It's in a safe part of town and my parents are less than 2 mins away. He likes it quite a bit too! He still walks a mile or so every day and comes to parties. I'm hoping he's stubborn enough to make it to see our 1st child. Which is quite likely!
