When am i ovulating...

I know I sound stupid, but me and my hubby are trying to get pregnant with our first child. And I don't really want to go to the doctor about ovulation and all that seeming ad though we just started trying. I never used to get my period because of the birth control I was on. This is my first period since I've been off the birth control. I'm on day seven of the period and its extremely light going into spotting. I'm having a hard time comprehending on how to know when I'm ovulating. Hope you all can help. Thanks in advance😊
