Day 2 of Period, Cervical Position is still very High!!!!

I had all the early pregnancy symptoms and then a day early my period starts. It was pink spotting first and now second day, I am on full flow and my cervix is high soft and open. It is so I high that I can't reach it. I thought your cervix is supposed to be low, hard and open during your period? I know that cervix position is not to be relied on but this is a first!! Anyone had the same experience? I am baffled
