He stopped giving compliments

So obviously there's the honeymoon phase and my boyfriend was giving me all sorts of compliments quite frequently. It's been 3 years, we bought a house together, we travel, everything is great and we love each other dearly, but for some reason when he stopped giving compliments I've become a little insecure. I've brought it up to him three times now and he's good about it for a week and then stops putting in anymore effort. He says he loves me, he calls me babe, and he shows mild physical affection (he's not a touchy guy but does give me some touchy affection). Does he still find me attractive (our sex life is golden and frequent) I just don't know how to wrap my head around it, anyone experience the same thing? Or even have some helpful advice?
