Would it be weird not to do games at my baby shower?

As much as I hate male friendly baby showers, because his family is ALLL guys for the most part, we have to invite the guys too.

We were planning on doing a BBQ and basically treating it like a birthday party. We eat, open presents, have cake & go home.

Would it be weird if we didn't do games? I just feel like they're silly & adults don't actually WANT to do stupid childish games. But my mom is throwing it and she wants to do the games.

I also hosted a baby shower with no games but we did a diaper raffle. Each person that brought in a package of diapers got put into the raffle and the prize was like a really good nice price. It was a big success! And a nice way to stock the mother to be with diapers!

I just went to a baby shower that had no games and it was totally fine. They did have a table set up with a stack of white onesies and permanent fabric markers. Each guess if they chose to you could draw on the onesie and sign their name and then they were close pinned up on the line that ran across the room... I thought it was a really cute idea and plan to use it at my own shower. Make sure the artist signs the onesies so when you use it you Will know what to thank:)

My best friends threw my shower and did no games--just super delicious foods and then she had everyone write advice and messages to me and the baby that everyone shared. It was so sweet and thoughtful. I think the shower should be about the person it's being thrown for, and their preferences matter! If you can tolerate a game and the fam really wants it, I could see that...but it's okay to not have them too. My MIL threw me a shower too but with games and weird activities and it was actually super embarrassing. So...I think it's completely fine to do things how you want them!

If she wants games why not do a diaper raffle -for every box of diapers or wipes you bring you'll be entered in for big prize. In our family, we usually do dinner gift cards.. Another one is the hilarious onsie contest, they bring a funny onsie and you'll pick you favorite that person will win a prize... Another one - take a jar and ask everyone to take $1 or more and put their names on it and place it in the jar -winner takes ALL -draw a dollar out and read the name. Winner gets "ALL" laundry detergent and mom and dad take home the money! (: hope this helps a little..

My baby shower is this weekend and we are not doing games because what adults want to play games ? I understand some do because of the kids but most of our siblings our over the age of 12 ...besides the 2,7and 9 year old but I'm sure they will just be focused on eating cake and snacks 😌 and playing at the park because we are doing it at a park

try to find some fun ones, on my baby shower we had so muxh fun we couples participated alot lol and had alot of laughts ! we played a game were the wife has to make a lemon go through her husband jeans from one leg to the other and some lemons would stay in there lol we were almos crying for so much fun we had lol😊
