how do you know if baby is cold?

LO wears footies and gets swaddled and a light blanket at night. meanwhile I'm wrapped in flannel sheets and two or three blankets on top of that and I still feel chilly. I touch her neck but it feels warm. how can you tell if they're cold? 🤔 I don't want to overheat her because she got heat rashes all summer.

They tell you not to base it on their hands, feet or face due to circulation. The best way to test how warm or cold they are is to touch their chest or back. That will correctly tell you how hot or cold baby is. ☺️

The back of the neck is a good indicator. I bundle my son up and just check to make sure the back of his neck isn't sweaty. Or I touch his hands or feet to see if they are cold to the touch. Not sure if that's the right way but it's what I do.

Check the babies temp under the armpit and do not add a point... You want the temp to be in the 80's 97.6 is  a just passing temp for your baby to eat. This is rules from the NICU that I still follow.

The chest is the best. Noses, feet, and hands are always a different temperature just like yours are!

We have to do either footie pjs or a swaddle with nothing underneath. If we do anything else he sweats through it. We keep our heater at 68 and I wear pj pants and a tank top to bed under a heated blanket
