Spotting?

Did anyone start spotting drown/pinkish a few weeks after they found out about their pregnancy? My doc told me to rest and today I went to the mall and walked a bit too much I guess, I started feeling a bit of pain in my lower abdomen and spotting brownish/pinkish when I got home...is that normal or should I go to the doctor?
