Ex boyfriend might be going to jail

So last week I broke up with my boyfriend because of how much we fought and I've recently found out (not through him) that he drank himself into a black out And woke up in s cell, with 100's of dollars of fines against his name and court next week. I don't know whether to reach out to him, I don't want to get back with him because he has constantly promised to change (he has a big drinking problem) and never did, and calls me all sorts of nasty names. I know he loves me and he's a good guy deep down, but he's landed himself in this and I don't know what to do
