Has anyone ever dated a guy that suffer from depression?

Good morning ladies, I'm seeking for advise on how to deal with a person that is going through depression. If any have any advise or recommendations please get back to me. Thanks and hope to hear some feeds back.

I myself have suffered from depression and my husband has as well. All you can do is support the person it is up to them if they want to seek help and up to them how they want to treat their depression. If you can get them to go on walks or a run with you on a daily basis without making it about the depression.  Also always be aware for warning signs of suicide if this is a concern ask them if they have a plan. Depending I think what state you are in some hospitals will let other ppl admit someone if they are a imminent threat to themselves. Hope this helps.

Communication is important, it's a long and draining road, you need to remember to look after yourself most important because if your in a bad way you can't help someone else when your struggling. Give each other space but not too much. Encourage him to do things with you or his mates but don't be pushy about it. Learn his triggers and help him avoid them, let him know your always there for him whenever he wants or needs to talk even if you don't fully understand it tell him you will try to understand. Let him know you love him and that his friends and family love him. Learn to listen to what he is actually saying. Sometimes there is more than meets the eye in everyday conversation. Form your own support circle because nothing can prepare you for loving someone with depression. Learn when it's time to take a few steps back and just focus on you and your own mental health and well being.

My Partner suffers from severe anxiety and depression. Communication is key, I'm constantly asking my Boyfriend how he's feeling and if there's anything wrong or anything he'd like to talk about. Try and get your Partner outside as much as possibly, it's good for them. But also let them do what helps them to be happy, such as play computer games like my Boyfriend. My boyfriend just admitted he been depressed he was moody thought I was going end it he didn't talk about it till now,  he goes to church and found a support group.

My partner suffers from depression. You just need to support them because they are going through a lot. Yes it is hard work. My partner and I have made it through and he doesn't need his medication anymore.   Just gotta be patient and just support them. Hope this helps

My husband has serve anxiety. But a lot of it is him psyching himself out. Like if he is running low on his meds he will start getting stressed about what if I run out , what if the dr office is closed , what if I get an attack at work. Ect. He gets mood swings and not to mention the side effects of being on those medications for years and years. Like weight gain low metabolism. And no lobido. It's frustrating, but I love him so I try to do what I can. I'd like him to try more natural remedies but he won't.
