Thyroid disorders

Anyone have any type of thyroid disorders during pregnancy? My Dr. thought my thyroid felt enlarged so I had an ultrasound on it yesterday and the nurse called to let me know they're referring me to another specialist for a consult and I also need to go have some blood work done. Anyway, I don't know what exactly is going on yet, but just curious if this can/will effect my baby in any way?
