Do you gain weight when you begin birth control? And if so, are there any alternative forms of birth control that prevent weight gain?

A side effect of the pill is an increase in appetite, it's really up to you if you follow through with the hunger though. I've never had a problem with it, but everyone responds differently to their birth control method.

It's not that it directly makes your gain weight. Your appetite increases and it's really up to you to maintain your weight and keep it under control

I was on Sprintec for a while and it prevented me from losing weight. My diet and lifestyle never changed so I know it wasn't exactly me.. I recently came off the pill and again, without changing anything, I'm down 5lbs. I had gained 15lbs on it

I gained about 8 lbs after being on birth control for 2 months.

It all depends on the person. I started taking birth control pills (mononessa I believe it was) and lost a bit of weight, switched to the depo shot and gained a bunch. About 40 pounds. I had to get off it because I just kept gaining. Switched back to the pill then got off and still have the weight. Kinda sucks. But yes it really depends on the person I believe.
