HELP w/ Comfort Sucker/Sucking

My baby is 2 days old and literally expects to be fed around the clock..she is constantly over exhausting feeding mechanisms. The nurses said that she Is a non nutritional sucker aka comfort sucker..due to the fact that we are both so new at this and she sucks extremely hard my nipples look horrid..they said not to use a pacifier for atleast a month to not confuse baby but I had to tonight....can anyone relate or any suggestions!!
