Episiotomy

Did anyone else have an episiotomy?  My baby was distressed, so they used a vacuum to get her out and gave me one that they said "wasn't too big".  I'm 11days postpartum and it still hurts SO bad.  I made the mistake of looking down there today and it looks like one stitch is holding together a 2" long cut that is otherwise gaping.  Is this normal?  How long before this heals up?  Am I going to be in pain the whole time?  Nothing looked infected - just red and big.  😢
