Men and video games

I just called my boyfriend and I was trying to be funny as usual and bother him with asking why he didn't text back and all this but just playing. But he was playing his game and started telling me how annoying I was and I asked him if his game is more important than me and he said yes and then finally I just said bye to him and he just hung up I could tell he was angry. I am confused because I am bothered by this idk if I shouldn't be mad or should.
