Painful but light periods on implant

I've been on the implant for a short while now and I've recently had cramps more painful than ever before. This was particularly strange because I was not bleeding at this point, though I did do later. I was wondering if anyone else who has or has had the implant experienced much worse period pains but much lighter periods? Just to check anything not too weird is up.
