Is it true you will gain a lot of weight on birth control?

I gained about 10 pounds only when i stopped my bc. If i gained while on it, it wouldn't have been much.

No. If you gain weight on the pill, it's because you're eating more.

It varies. I've never gained any weight but I know people who have.

When I first started taking the pill I gained about 5-8 pounds. Then my doctor randomly switched the pill about 9 months in and the new stuff made me very nauseous, so she switched it once again to another pill about 2 months in to that. I gained 40 pounds that year taking the new pill. I threw it away (aggressively and in a rage lol) in February and have dropped 25 pounds since. Mind you, during that entire year of taking that pill and continuing until this day I have been a very healthy, vegetarian eater, and have been active between yoga, Pilates, and weight lifting. So it was definitely the BC that made me gain.

Depends on the person, their endocrine system, and the type of birth control.

For me I have PCOS, out of the 30 or so different types of birth control pills and types I've only gained weight with Sprintec.

Everything else I lost weight.
