Sex before marriage?

Question

Do you think, as Christians, we should wait until marriage to have sex?
I understand people have different thoughts on this hot topic, but I was frankly a little surprised that most folks weren't waiting until marriage to start becoming active in the bedroom. I had started to browse this section expecting to find more people with similar beliefs but I'm a bit disappointed for feeling like an outsider in a group of Christians...

Is abstinence before marriage an outdated thing? Or still the way to go?

Following the will of God is never outdated. Jesus was an outsider. I'm definitely not a perfect Christian and have backslidden many times...thank God for forgiveness. However, I do believe when we we wait God honors the marriage. Not to say those who have sex prior to marriage do not have a marriage honored by God--I know godly marriages on both sides of the coin but sometimes  I think sex prior to marriage sometimes clouds judgment and clouded judgment can lead to unwise decision making. This is my two cents.

DH and I waited until marriage. Courted for 1.5yrs. Lots of prayer and faith that the wait would be worth it and it was! I'm all about pleasing my Father and nobody else.

Unfortunately a lot of people call themselves "christians" and wouldn't know the first thing about being a true follower of Christ.

It's definitely still the way to go.  God loves when we're faithful.  Most things that are rewarding are the most difficult to stay disciplined.  It's so easy to go left, but once you do the regret far exceeds the gratification.  You have to know God and develop a personal relationship with Him.  The world will tell you, it's ok just ask for forgiveness.  Yes, He a forgiving God.  But you can't walk walk into a bank and apologize to the teller before you rob them and expect the consequence to be any less.

I was engaged. First and only man I've been with is my husband. And same for him. It's such an amazing thing and we are both happy we waited for the one.
