Is there a biological purpose for a mother to feel the baby move while pregnant?

From the fetal side of things yes, and it's SUPER NEAT!

Your fetus is currently growing muscles and "teaching" it's nerves how to operate. The kicks are your fetus extending its leg, it's foot feeling the wall of the amniotic sac and uterus, then retracting. This does 2 things, grows muscle and teaches the nerves how to work.

It's called the step reflex and continues until the child is 6 months old. Babies aren't actually born "full term" brain development wise. We're technically fetuses till the 6 month mark. That's usually when the rooting reflex, step reflex and the ulnar nerve reflex.

The rooting is if you put a nipple shaped object on a baby's cheek or lips it will turn to face that object, usually that indicates they're ready for another feeding.

Ulnar nerve reflex ends in the palm of your hand, so when you put a finger in a baby's hand it grips whatever is there, finger, toy etc.

A purpose? No. But there is a living thing moving around inside of you. So I don't think there needs to be a purpose. You feel it because how could you not under normal circumstances? Lol.

I don't think so the baby just learns to move in the womb and since the baby does get so big we just feel it. There is no purpose that I can think of. And it's okay to complain. I'm 33 weeks and my baby gets hiccups 4 times a day at least and punches me and kicks me to wher it hurts
