Concerned

I'm a week early for my period and I normally only have a 2 or 3 day period anyways but I'm on birth control so being early really shouldn't happen right? Not only that but two days before the bleeding I was incredibly nauseated and had sharp pains and cramping in my pelvic area, my blood is normal color but consistency of discharge or mucus. Has anyone else experienced this before?
