Please help and no judgmental comments

I started birth control October 18th. I have been sexually active since October 24st or so. I haven't been feeling well lately but I just got off my period from the 10th . I got out on birth control to regulate my periods as I am TTC. My mom had recently brought up to me how she got pregnant while on birth control after she lost weight on it. And I lost weight on the birth control so far and me and my SO haven't used condoms and I have test but idk if I should even bother considering I got my period. But it's also possible to get pregnant right before your period and still get your period I heard. Please help I'm going crazy.
