Today I got pushed by my boyfriend

We were both mad, and I stopped talking because I was mad, then he pushed me by my back, and because I was in shocked, I pushed him back too and told him that pushing a woman doesn't make him a man. He just left me with other friends. He did that to me in public. I cried, and he never approached me. He left me crying. And it's been 3 hours and he still haven't talked and apologized to me. I don't know what to do. :( I love him, but I don't want to marry someone  someday who's going to hurt me like that.
