When should I ask my mum!!???

Hi, I'm 16 and I want to have sex with my boyfriend and I know he wants it so bad too but im really nervous in case anything went wrong. I would feel better if my mum knew I was doing it so I could speak to her if anything went wrong and maybe she could get me the pill....I want to talk to her about it but I am way too scared , is 16 still too young do U think? Should I wait longer? ( I have been with my boyfriend for a year and a half ️btw)

You should definitely tell her you're ready and that you want to take the precaution of using the pill! Although keep in mind it's not just your responsibility to be protected, it's both of yours and contraception can be more than just the pill! Condoms work just as well as the pill (both combined add for extra protection) and maybe if you're not comfortable telling your mum straight away you can start with condoms and then ask to go on the pill because you feel it will be safer! Then atleast when you talk to her you can say you're already being safe but would like to be more protected! There is also the risk of STIs and other things that you are at risk from catching! My advice is try and have the "talk" soon, and if you can't do it try with condoms and then go from there! 
If he says no to condoms he's a fool!

It depends on your relationship with your mom. If you're close, go for it! I know the feeling, it's comforting having your mom know. It might be a little awkward at first, but these conversations need to be had! Actually, I guess I'd tell her either way. Then she can help you and she'll know ahead of time that you were going to do it. I had just turned 16 the first time I had sex, and I think there isn't really a "right" age. When you're ready, you're ready. You'll know and only do it if you're comfortable. Just be safe and careful and use protection if you don't want to get pregnant and all should be fine😊 my boyfriend and I took things REALLY slow at first, and we've been going strong three years now and counting! We were both each other's first and I'm not supposed to know he has a ring😍💍 anyway, that's a little off topic, sorry. You'll be fine as long as you're safe😘 good luck!

I can't relate to this but my friend recently told her mother in maybe July about her boyfriend and her having sex. she is 15 and she is on the pill. personally, I'm 17 and I'm still a virgin and I think I would tell my mom just to be safe.

Me and my mum are super close, and I've been having sex with boyfriends and other guys and she's never known (she may have gathered though). If you get into a bad situation where you need the pill or something then talk to her. But even now, I'm 16 and my mum would probably be okay with me having sex, but I've actually become pregnant and I have to deal with it on my own in fear of what my mother would think of me. It may be best to talk to her before you're in big trouble, because her finding out you've had sex by being pregnant isn't the best way! It'll be okay g, xx
