Maternity leave

I really think I should go on maternity leave early but there are a few problems which might cause it to be an issue. I'll be 27 wks tomorrow, FTM, and I am just beyond tired. I've taken off work yesterday & today just to try and catch up on sleep. Here's the issue, if I go on maternity leave now I'll exhaust all of my leave & then have to take leave without pay but I can't afford that bc my hubby is currently looking for a job & we only have one check coming in. I live in IL. Is there any temporary assistance that I could get just to make sure I am not pushing it for my child? Bc I experience preterm labor symptoms every now & again. I don't wanna give birth prematurely & im nervous to just leave work now... I'm stressed.
