Is this normal?

My cousins 4 week old constantly is latched onto her. She will go from 45mins to 1 1/2 each feeding and feeds at least 8 times a day. When she pumps she is only getting 4oz a day! If she tries to wean the baby off she just cries. Is the baby just using her as a pacifier, is this normal? Suggestions please

I also breastfeed but I don't have this problem so I don't know what to suggest.

My baby is the same some days and I'm sure I'm producing ample milk for him. Some babies just do it for comfort so yes her baby might just be using her as a pacifier.  One resource I found that had some great tips for dealing with such issue is a website called kellymom.  If her baby is gaining weight and producing enough wet diapers then it's probably not a milk production issue but it never hurts to see a lactation counseler.
