A million pregnancy tests?

Why do people on tv ALWAYS take a million pregnancy tests when it shows up positive? I know lots of women in real life do this too... But I just don't get it? I mean, maybe to confirm a faint line I understand, but bold positives? So weird. And expensive!!

Because some have been trying for months/years & are in disbelief, or maybe it's the rainbow baby they've been waiting for. Why does it matter?

Some people who have had miscarriages before like to see that their HCG is rising. By taking tests of several days, you'll watch the due on the test get darker and it is encouraging to see. This coming from ME who has done this in the past. Yes it is expensive, yes it is worth piece of mind. I wouldn't judge those who do it. It's an exciting time in a woman's life.

I took 8 pregnancy tests because I found out at 3w 4d and wanted to test occasionally until I had my Drs appt to confirm at 8w 4d. It wasn't necessary but it definitely provided peace of mind to see the lines get darker in the early days. I ended up stopping before my Drs appt because my morning sickness was a giveaway around 6 weeks.

I did that took 12! Haha I had infertility and I just couldn't believe it plus I once had a false possitive so until I had at least 3 possitive tests I didn't even get excited! I honestly think you gotta at least take 2!!

Because it looks fucking cool. 
My first test was so positive that the test line sucked the dye from the control line. I was like 4 weeks pregnant. I took 3 more in the following couple weeks because I had them and I wanted to take them.

Right?! I took one test it was from the dollar store. It was accurate. I might have been in denial but I still only took one.

I took about 5... 2 when I found out 1 day apart because the first one was faint.... Then 1 a week until my doc appt.... I only took so many because I have Lost 2 babies and the positive each week kept me at ease..

I took about 6 test only because me and my SO we're trying for a year straight and I couldn't believe it and also I know it's a good chance of getting one false positive but 6 false positives is hard to get.

I had a friend who did not want to be pregnant. Took several tests, all showed positive, bit had to get a digital to see the word "pregnant" because she was in disbelief and kept trying to justify that maybe she was looking at it wrong or whatever.
