Advice on tooth pain during pregnancy.

I have a cracked tooth that I will be seeing a specialist Monday to have them look at it and schedule an appointment to get a root canal. They prescribed be Tylenol 3 but I can't take it because I get really sick from the codeine so have to take regular Tylenol which barely helps. Is there any advice y'all can give me? I am 35 weeks and 2 days pregnant so keep that in mind. I am alternating cold and hot on my cheek and that kinda helps but not really. Can't hardly eat or drink because the pain is so bad I can't hardly swallow.
