How do you handle knowing you'll get engaged soon?

Question

I hear so often about couples ring shopping together and even knowing where the ring is and I would be so anxious.

I mean I am assuming that I'll be getting engaged within the next year and even I am getting a little antsy!

I would have probably said no and been very disappointed if I ring shopped with him that or told him if he wanted to marry me then he didn't need my input, there is just no romance in knowing or picking the ring for me.

We went ring shopping..and he carried the information around for 2.5 years!! He bought it and proposed when least expected..at the beach.

My fiancé and I talked about it and both knew where our relationship was headed. However I had no idea what the ring looked like, where he bought it, or even that he bought it! I had no idea he was going to propose until he got down on one knee! He even managed to ask both my dad and my step dad and had even showed my parents the ring (in the store before he bought it). He had my whole family and his in on the secret and most of them where there when he proposed. He did it on the Fourth of July at our family bbq. I loved that my fiancé picked the ring himself and kept it all a secret from me, it made it way more special!

Well with us my fiancé told me he bought me a ring and didn't give it to me until 3 months later. 
I bugged him almost everyday to give it to me. 
I was driving myself nuts over it. I went online to look at rings from the jewelry store he bought it at trying to figure out what one he got me. 
And come to find out they didn't even have my ring on their website.

We started looking at rings awhile before we got engaged. Well, mostly me haha. But he started asking more questions and acting different and his family started dropping hints. We kinda picked one out on blue Nike together because I wanted him to know exactly what I wanted. But the actual proposal part took me completely off guard and was a huge surprise

I picked out my ring early in our relationship and found it quite a while later. Then my (now husband) waited a YEAR and a HALF before proposing!! Omg it was torture!! I actually got pissed a few times because I thought he was going to and didn't lol. But he finally did, in an awesome and romantic way! I kind of wish I hadn't known, though because it was awful waiting.

My other half bought a silver ring with a cz stone it in to propose with.
I suspected it as we have discussed it - and I do think you should be aware of it in a way. You should both be in a position where you know where your relationship is going.
However I didn't expect that he ACTUALLY would!
I scared him off getting a ring by himself, hence the "fake" one. I wore it for a few months before we went together to shop for one.
I'm a designer and super fussy about things like that - it had to be right! I don't think shopping for it makes it any less romantic, he did the romantic bit by gettinf down to one knee! I don't think I'd have liked to of picked it before he'd asked me though. I'd keep going to look at the ring, and probably just end up wearing it!!

We picked out the ring together, but as for when he bought it and the rest was a surprise. I usually don't like surprises at all but it was worth every second of patience and not knowing! There's nothing like being proposed to:) but while waiting I had to keep myself super busy (with wedding planning of course:) Best wishes!!!
