CAT ALONE - 2 months!

So my husband and I are going to be out of town for two months. We have a 8 years old cat, he is not really playful but he does enjoy to be on your lap like A LOT... Anyways, our neighbor can come over and feed him and clean litter box...but I'm so worried because it is a looong time but we also don't have the money to pay a cat hotel for that long, and we are going overseas so no chances of taking him with! What should I do?! :(
