Pap Smear

Hello ladies! I'm very new to this, this will actually be my first post! But I have a question... My mother always told me as a young teen that it was safe to get a pap once a year... Ive done so every year all my life... Well I have two children now and I recently went to see my Family Doctor, and she said that it's now Safe to get one every 3 years? How accurate is this information 😳
