The business of being born

This documentary really shows you the contrast between a hospital birth and a home birth. Its worth watching, whatever route you think you'd like to go. It will educate you on the normal process of birth, and the extremely invasiveness of hospitals during birth.

I for one became terrified of a hospital birth. It seems like you get absolutely no control or say over what happens. Meds are pushed and you dont get to decide. Your birth plan flies out the window. And I bet your OB has never seen a natural birth. Ask yourself many questions while watching.

The US loses more women and children than any other industrialised country. Why? Because of medical intervention. The rest of the world uses midwives for 1/3 of their women, and the rest are high risk or chose to use a hospital. In the US it is around 1% of women.

I also realized how special the moment of birth can be for mom and baby, and dad too. At the hospital I think that moment will be ruined, or at least I am afraid that it will ruin it for me. :/

Anyway. Watch it if you are interested! It'll deff have you crying wishing that you could meet your baby NOW. Lol
