Short period

I lost my vriginity on sweetest day, we had unprotected sex and my period was late by about a week. It finally came but only lasted about 3-4 days. Usually it last 6-7 days. One of my friends said it was normal to have a change in your period after you loose your vriginity, another said I should take a test.. I just need some more thoughts and advice on this. Thanks!
