I need reassurance!

okay so I've had my IUD (skyla) for about a year now, and my period have been very very off. my cramps have been killer as well. when I get my period ( not to sound nasty) but it comes out dark red or sometimes even black. I'm also very afraid of my uterin wall to grow around the IUD, and I'm afraid that's what is causing the terrible cramps.
