Infected cartilage piercing

So about 4 months ago I got a cartilage piercing on my ear.  2 month after getting it pierced, I accidentally hit my ear against something and it started to swell and there was a knot or something around the hole.  I took my earring out and the knot went away, although there is still a little something there.  Will I be able to get it repierced? Or is that a no no?
