Is ceviche okay to eat while pregnant ?

Funny thing is , i've never liked ceviche but my mom had bought some and I took a bite of her tostada and mmmmm it was so yummy 😋 but all I had was a bite and now i'm craving it so badly but i'm not sure if it's safe

Love ceviche! Just don't go too crazy. Shrimp is a bit high in cholesterol.

If it's cooked with lemon then no because i got the stomach flu after i ate it. Only boiled cooked seafood

The shrimp is cooked it's fine and super yummy! I wouldn't buy it prepackaged but from a restaurant is perfectly fine

Yea I make it all the time just make sure the shrimp and stuff is boiled. I don't like mine with raw seafood anyway I always boiled it first so it was no problem for me lol

From what I was told, it's ok to eat as long as it's not a lot and the shrimp (or some people like to make it with fish) is fully cooked. The reason you can't eat too much is because of the high levels of mercury which can cause damage to the developing nervous system of your baby.
