Breastfeeding and period??

I just had my first baby, he is 6 weeks old (c section) and I am not sure how likely it is to start your period while breastfeeding? I thought that was really unlikely..? Or could it be something else?  Just started today...

Everyone is different, but it also depends on how long between feeds. If you ever go more than four hours you'll probably get it sooner.

I got my first period back at 4 weeks after my c section .and I was breastfeeding.

I didn't get my period back til 6 months postpartum and it was never regular. I would go a 2-3 months without. I got pregnant while breastfeeding my 16 month old. Some people get theirs back right away. Just depends on the person

I've always went right back to a regular cycle, even with exclusive breastfeeding. I have friends who don't start until they begin to wean, a year or more down the line. I guess everyone's different.
