Breastfeeding after c section
Can anyone with a prior c section comment on how many days post delivery your milk came in, and any success stories about initiating breastfeeding after cesarean? I had an emergency c section with my first and milk came in at day 3-4 with lots of difficulties feeding (poor latch/lazy sucker). Did not get immediate skin to skin time and nurses forced me to offer a bottle after a couple days saying they couldn't discharge us unless they knew he could feed and my milk wasn't in yet. I'm likely to schedule a repeat cesarian and I'm wondering if breastfeeding might go better without all the labor/pushing before hand, more planning for those early days, etc. (clinic now allows baby to stay in the OR with mom rather than separating from mom)...thoughts/personal experiences about getting off to a good start with breastfeeding after c section?
