First period after stopping BC

I've been on nuvaring for about 5 years, but went off of it last month because my husband and I are ttc. I had my first period, and it's lasting forever! It also came about a week before I thought it would. I think I'm on day 10 now, and even though it's been a pretty light period, I wasn't expecting it to last so long. Anyone else have the same experience? I'm guessing it's just my body adjusting to no BC.
